Hi everyone: Here is a link to the library's media center. If you scroll down to the literature section, you'll find volumes of the Poetry for Students series that may help you track down some poems for your anthology.

Also, when it is time to post your proposed theme for the poetry project (Wednesday), you can just post it as a comment to this post rather than using a piece of paper. Thanks.
For my poetry anthology I am going to focus on the theme of loneliness and try to interweave or branch off with related themes including solitude, isolation, and unrequited love or other repressed emotions. I want to show with my selected and composed poems how these themes feed into one another and their overreaching connection to loneliness. Certain aspects may grow or shrink in prominence as this project progresses, but that is the current direction that I plan to go in.
ReplyDeleteFor the poetry anthology I want my theme to be war and poems about battles. I think there's a lot that can be said about war from the written perspective of poetry, and I'd love to dig deeper into that to learn more about what is really being said in them.
ReplyDeleteThe theme that I want to focus on for the anthology project is disappointment in love. There is a lot that can be discussed about this theme, and it will be interesting to look closer at poems focusing on this and maybe several smaller themes that branch off of it, and see how they all tie together.
ReplyDeleteFor the poetry anthology the theme each of my poems will follow is that some sort of journey will be part of the poem or its entirety. I believe that there are a wide variety of interesting poems that could fit this theme and that very interesting connections will be able to be made between them.
ReplyDeleteFor the poetry anthology, I would like to explore the theme of surrealism and how the nonsensical words in each poem promote a more significant meaning or implicate a hidden story behind the words.
ReplyDeleteMy theme for this project relates to the negative aspects of love. I plan to explore poems about this idea in general but I will focus specifically on lost love and heartbreak. I want to see how different people use poetry to describe their experiences and capture their emotions.
ReplyDeleteWhat I am thinking of for the poetry project is exploring the theme of insanity and/or madness. To see the different types of insanity described by the poets and how the poets use them to their advantage in the poem.
ReplyDeleteFor my poetry project, I would like to explore the theme of nature being used a metaphor. I am interested in it being used in a positive and negative way. I think that there is a wide variety of poems about nature and I like reading them.
ReplyDeleteFor my poetry project, I plan to explore mans' struggle with the concept of immortality and the way in which some authors attempt to immortalize a loved one by writing him or her into poetry. Working off of that, I also plan to look at how at least one author attempts to connect all of humanity to one source, thereby eliminating the need for individual remembrance.
